A TOTAL of 14 hectares of land were awarded to 31 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in E.B. Magalona town through an individual certificate of land ownership award (Cloa) distribution recently.
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North said minimum health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the Department of Health (DOH) in the areas under the modified general community quarantine were observed during the distribution.
Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Den Villena, who led the activity, urged farmer beneficiaries to cultivate the land awarded to them.
Villena told them not to forget the payment of taxes and other obligations as responsible citizens of the country.
"Bear fruitful harvest of the crops you grow to attain economic stability," he urged ARBs.
The distributed land involved the landholdings formerly owned by Pacita Ascalon Jereza located in Barangay Consing in the northern Negros Occidental locality.
It was distributed by the DAR through land acquisition and distribution under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms (Carper).
