

THE Association of Negros Producers (ANP) has been awarded "Most Outstanding Community Enterprise" by the Villar Sipag Awards Foundation particularly on poverty reduction challenge.
The organization, led by its president Arlene Infante and chair Christina Gaston, received a cash incentive and trophy during the awarding rites held at The Tent in Las Piñas City recently.
ANP, in a statement, said only 20 were chosen as top winners from more than 300 applicants all over the country.
The evaluation and validation are based on criteria including effectiveness, significance, financial viability, sustainability and adaptability.
Since 1980's, ANP has provided more than 35,000 employment.
Also, more than 700 small holder farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) have been assisted and helped through technology transfer, good agriculture practices (GAP) training and marketing platform.
"ANP keeps on helping and assisting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through capacity building and development as well as community empowerment through product development training and livelihood," the organization said.
It has been providing marketing platform to all its members through The Negros Showroom and The Negros Trade Fair, among other initiatives, it added.
ANP's core values as an organization is lived through service support and mentoring, professionalism, leadership, advocacy and environment.
The organization said it values the needs and interests of its member-producers especially their continued growth and success in their individual enterprise.
"ANP intends to work towards building and becoming a professional organization -- one that values skills, talents and human resources," it said, adding that "we are determined to be an advocate of fair trade, good business practices and quality work environment."
