THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental - North has installed five agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Toboso town recently.
They also received their certificates of land ownership award (Cloas).
Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Jasmin Castillo, who led the activity, urged farmer-beneficiaries o make the land productive.
"Let this be the start of your financial liberation and may this uplift your lives and attain economic stability," she added.
A total of 1.8460 hectares were distributed to the ARBs involving the landholdings previously managed by Amado Caballero located at Hacienda Clarita in Barangay General Luna of the northern Negros Occidental locality.
The installation and distribution of Cloas is through the DAR's land acquisition and distribution (LAD), under the comprehensive agrarian reform program extension with reforms (Carper).
The agency is mandated to redistribute government and private agricultural lands to landless farmers and farm workers to uphold land security and social equity among farmers.
Also, provide them with the necessary productive resources needed to ensure their economic viability and productivity.
The LAD also covers all tenanted agricultural lands such as those in the retained areas, not yet acquired for distribution under Carp, and those which may be validly covered under existing laws. (EPN)
