LET US go to Lakawon Island Beach Resort and Spa in Cadiz Viejo, Cadiz City, a tourist destination that has captured the interest of both the domestic and foreign tourists.
Three dear friends Rashed Marie Lim, Quiana Grace Lamina, Alex Larraga with their aunt Michelle Lamina visited the island on a scorching hot summer weekend, May 4.
They have noticed how the efforts of owner Vladimir Gonzales in collaboration with his sons and daughters paid off after they successfully transformed Lakawon into a modern and classy tourist destination.
Michelle said they have enjoyed Lakawon because of the smooth flow of their trip from Bacolod City to the island.
They took a Ceres bus early morning going to Cadiz Viejo in Cadiz City and took a motorcycle ride to the port.
The boat ride from the port took them about 20 minutes.
Tourists are now using cash card as their means to pay the various services such as from boat ride, terminal fee, entrance, food and the use of other recreational facilities and amenities in the area.
It was the third time that Quiana went to Lakawon and she said, "the water was so refreshing."
They have improved their facilities and there were several activities and events like beach volleyball tournament that made their trip more exciting.
Alex, being new to the place as she is from Cebu, said she was speechless to spend the day in the island with her friends Quinna and Rashed and with Tita (Aunt) Michelle who had such great sense of humor.
Rashed, on the other hand, was amazed with the star fishes which can be found in the island.
"The water was cool and they had a relaxing experience," she said.
The term Lakawon is derived from a Bisaya word "lakaw," which means to walk.
