A WOMAN died while three others were injured after they were hit by a passenger truck at Barangay Ani-e in Calatrava, Negros Occidental Thursday morning.
Killed was Vangiline Brasona, 56, while injured were Maricel Libod-Libod, 29; Angela Trinidad, 40; and Carolina Maloloy-on, 40.
Police investigation said that the speeding truck driven by Jessie Ogabang, 40, lost its control while going towards a downslope curved road.
The truck then crashed into the rail guard of the Department of Public Works and Highways office.
Brasona was sitting at the rear door when she was hit by the vehicle. She was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The three injured victims were brought to Calatrava District Hospital.
The truck driver surrendered to the police.
