A TOTAL of 12 persons in Bacolod City were arrested by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for violating curfew hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Wednesday the 12 persons were arrested by personnel of Police Stations 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 for violating curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
He said violators were arrested in areas of Barangays Villamonte, Mansilingan, Granada, Taculing, Sum-ag and Barangay 40.
They were given citation tickets and those who are Bacolod residents were fined P500 while non-residents were fined P800. Those who failed to pay penalties were endorsed to the barangay for community service.
Meanwhile, an estimated P10,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 5 in Purok 4, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Tuesday evening.
The operation also led to the arrest of Raymond Tapangan, 29, of Barangay Granada.
Pico said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 9 p.m.
Police recovered from Tapangan's possession 10 sachets of shabu, the P300 marked money, light and P250 cash.
The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
