142 villages in Western Visayas declared drug cleared

AT LEAST 142 villages all over Western Visayas successfully passed the deliberation process and were subsequently declared as "drug-cleared" or "officially unaffected" in a deliberation conducted in the region.

The Regional Oversight Committee who conducted the deliberation is composed of the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Department of Health, and the local government unit, with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sitting as chairman.

A total of 313 villages from 37 municipalities and cities in Western Visayas applied for drug-clearing during the 18th Regional Oversight Committee Deliberation on December 17, 2019 at the Westown Hotel, Smallville Complex, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

In total, 74.52 percent of all villages have already been declared as "cleared" or officially declared as "unaffected" per report of PDE-Western Visayas. (TDE)
