A TOTAL of 15 jail officers and 47 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ)female dormitory at Barangay Handumanan in Bacolod City yielded negative in the surprise drug test Monday, May 28.
They all submitted their urine samples for the test spearheaded by Inspector Aubrey Robles, warden of MBDJ, and witnessed by Senior Inspector Kate Beltran, chief for inmates welfare and development division of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Western Visayas.
Robles said the test was conducted to prevent the entry of illegal drugs and other contrabands inside the jail.
"This is also in support to President Rodrigo Duterte's campaign against illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption," she added.
Robles, meanwhile, said she will recommend the dismissal of any of her personnel if found guilty in participating in the illegal drug trade.
She also reminded them that "if any of them will be caught committing the violation, they will be dismissed from the service as written in the BJMP Comprehensive Administrative Disciplinary Machinery. (Debbie Benedicto, STI West Negros University intern)
