TWO more persons were added in the list of casualties in the fatal accident at Barangay Calumangan in Bago City, Negros Occidental Monday, November 5.
Senior Inspector Hercules Trigue Jr., deputy chief for administration of Bago City Police Station, identified the two fatalities as truck driver Johnny Catanyag, 29, of Himamaylan City and Mary Joy Cavica, 29, of Binalbagan town, a passenger of a van.
Trigue said Catanyag expired at a hospital in Bacolod City at 5 p.m. on the day of the accident while Cavica also expired at a hospital at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 6. Both sustained severe injuries.
Meanwhile, Trigue said Gamarza, who was also unharmed in the accident, was released from police custody at 11:50 p.m. on Monday, November 5, after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary period.
Trigue said the victims and their families have yet to coordinate with the police regarding the filing of the case but the owner of the van is willing to extend assistance to the victims.
Police are still verifying if the van is registered as a private vehicle or a passenger van. (GYM)
