THE provincial government has put under quarantine at Mambukal Resort the 84 Negrenses who arrived in the province Thursday, March 19, in an arranged plane trip from Clark, Pampanga.
They were placed under quarantine as they are considered persons under monitoring for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) because Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has declared that all passengers from Manila are considered as PUMs, Board Member Ryan Gamboa said.
Gamboa said the passengers arrived in the province at about 12 noon Thursday, March 19, after Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson wrote a letter to the Civil Aviation Authority appealing for the return of the Negrenses who were stranded at Clark Airport after the suspension of land, sea and air travels amid the threat of Covid-19.
Gamboa also revealed that about 40 passengers who were stranded in the province were made to board on the return flight of same plane that brought here the stranded Negrenses.
"The stranded passengers reached out to us earlier so the governor sent a letter to CAAP. The Negrenses who were stranded in Pampanga were extended with assistance and were well taken cared of by the Red Cross personnel and Rotary members while they were in Clark," Gamboa assured.
He said that the governor has decided yesterday to put the 84 Negrenses at Mambukal to make sure of the14-day quarantine period compliance.
The ones from Clark are all settled at Mambukal. Health workers and police personnel are assigned in the area to enforce quarantine, a message from the Office of the Governor stated Thursday.
Gamboa also said that before the arrival of the stranded passengers, the Provincial Health Office has already sent medical staff in Mambukal ahead to make the necessary preparations.
