THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) received five brand new patrol vehicles from the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Western Visayas last week.
Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, BCPO public information officer, said yesterday, May 20, that the new Toyota Hilux patrol cars were turned over to PRO-Western Visayas from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame.
The new vehicles were distributed to Police Stations 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 when it arrived during the Election Day, May 14.
Each of these police stations already has two vehicles but their existing patrol cars were recalled and were given to five other police stations that have only one vehicle.
Vargas said the new patrol cars will be for the immediate and effective response of policemen to any assistance.
Police Stations 3, 5, 7, and 9 received the old vehicles.
Police Station 10 has only one vehicle among all 10 stations in the city.
Vargas said they also requested six more patrol vehicles for the remaining police stations.
Aside from patrol vehicles, police stations are also using the rescue cars that were utilized for police operating procedures.
