THE City Government of Bacolod will provide free live viewing of the match between Philippine ring icon and Senator Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao and Argentine boxer, Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia on July 15.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the free live viewing will be at the Bacolod Arts Youth and Sports (Bays) Center and gymnasiums of Barangays Villamonte and Handumanan.
He said this will be the chance of the Bacoleños to watch live the fight of Pacquiao.
The fight dubbed as "Fights of Champions" will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Leonardia said that Pacquiao invited him again to be the Philippine flag bearer on Sunday.
"I feel that it is also my moral obligation as a friend to be there in the good times and the bad times. I already talked to him and I assured him that I will be there," he said.
In previous fights, Leonardia had either held the Philippine flag or Pacquiao's belt.
Meanwhile, the city is also finalizing the set up of a big LED screen at the Government Center for the 2018 Fifa World Cup final in Russia on Sunday.
Leonardia said they are receiving feedback that there's a lot of Bacoleños following the World Cup.
"We do not want to deprive our people of that enjoyment and thrill to watch the game in live coverage," he said.
