A TOTAL of 21 tricycles were impounded by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) from August 27 to 28 as it intensifies its campaign against colorum tricycles.
The said tricycles were privately-owned used as a public utility without proper authority or permit to operate and not registered with the city government.
Other violations include traveling without plate numbers.
Police stations in Bacolod City are supporting the city government's anti-colorum campaign to ensure the security of the riding public in case of accidents.
The impounded tricycles are in the custody of the respective apprehending police stations and can only be redeemed upon issuance of the proper permit by the city government.
BCPO also continue to remind the public to refrain from riding a colorum tricycle for their own safety.
Meanwhile, in the campaign against motorcycle-riding in tandem, BCPO was able to apprehend 113 violators of City Ordinance No. 832 Riding in Tandem on Motorcycles in various operations from August 24 to 28 in the city.
This campaign of the police is to ensure the prevention of incidents perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects. (PR)
