BINALBAGAN Mayor Alejandro Mirasol confirmed the death of Vice Mayor Samuel Gavaran on Monday, November 2, 2020.
Mirasol said he was informed by the wife of Gavaran about his death around 3 a.m. Monday at their house.
Gavaran had been ill for about a year already after he was discharged from the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center due to complications from kidney disease.
"He had been staying at home since then," Mirasol said.
Mirasol also confirmed that the rule of succession will apply and that number one Sangguniang Bayan member Yors Inodeo will fill in the position left by Gavaran.
Both Gavaran and Inodeo belong to the same local party, Mirasol said.
