NEGROS Occidental Provincial Acting Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said on Wednesday, August 29, the swimming pool at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City is temporarily closed as the Provincial Government awaits the supply of chlorine.
Gelvolea said the same supply of chlorine is being applied at the swimming pools in Capitol-run Mambukal Summer Resort in Murcia town.
She said the chlorine procurement will be scheduled for bidding and that the purchase is made in bulk which cost about P100, 000 for a year's supply.
Gelvolea said that Engineer Victor Losinde, in charge of the Panaad Park and Stadium, decided to temporarily close this month the swimming pool which is usually used for training of swimmers and that it is not affecting the general public.
Chlorine is applied on swimming pools for sanitation and health purposes.
She assured the situation is being addressed so it won't happen again in the future. (TDE)
