THE Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) warned the public against some groups going house to house and introducing themselves as collectors of the utility firm.
"This is a warning to our member-consumers not to prey on these pseudo collectors," said Roel Venus, Ceneco member-consumers integrated services division chief.
He said that he received several complaints especially those from far-flung areas in Talisay City who were already victimized by these people.
He added the pseudo collectors are reportedly going house to house and bringing with them the master list of Ceneco members and ask for the payment of their electric bills.
Venus said they issue fake receipts using their handwriting.
There were already consumer-members who were victimized by these pseudo collectors, he added.
"If you encounter these fake or pseudo collectors, immediately report them to the nearest police station," Venus said.
He also clarified that bills payment is only accepted at the Ceneco collection centers.
Venus added that they have been receiving this kind of complaints every month of December.
