THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City will hold an Election Registration Board (ERB) hearing on October 25.
City Election Registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia said Wednesday, October 3, from July 2 to September 29, they accommodated a total 19,463 applicants.
"We will evaluate the data so they can be included to the final lists of the registered voters in Bacolod," she said.
Of the 19,463 applicants, 10,849 are new registrants; 4,122 transfer from outside Bacolod; 533 transfer with reactivation; 177 transfer with reactivation and corrections; 1,280 for reactivation; 1,345 transfer within Bacolod; 261 transfer with corrections; and 583 have corrections.
Majarucon-Sia said the ERB hearing will be conducted in five days at the Comelec office.
"All applications for registration and other voter-related applications are not automatically approved. These applications have to be evaluated," she said.
She added after the ERB hearing, they will review their records to determine the deceased voters and those who transferred residence.
Other members of ERB are Civil Registrar Head Hermilo Pauyon and Bacolod Schools Division Superintendent Cynthia Demavias.
Majarucon-Sia disclosed that the ERB will notify the applicants if their applications will be disapproved, and maybe for 2019 elections, they could hit 300,000 voters. (MAP)
