A COUPLE and five others were arrested in six separate operations against illegal drugs in Negros Occidental which resulted to a drug recovery of an estimated total of P550,100 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in the past two days.

In Silay City, target subject Cydee Bajande, 37, and his wife Jonah, 37 were arrested after police raided their house at Carmela Subdivision in Barangay Guinhalaran Wednesday, August 22.

Superintendent Noel Polines, city police chief, said both suspects are level three high-value targets (HVTs) because they are connected to a drug group in the city.

Police recovered from them 12 sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P520,000, pouch, aluminum foil, P6,900 in cash, documents, and a sling bag.

Also confiscated from Cydee were a Glock 22 generation 4 .40 caliber loaded with magazine and ammunition, two magazines, 26 live ammunition, Glock box, shooting wrigs with magazine pouch and a holster.

Polines said Cydee's firearm has complete documents. However, they will request for the license revocation, considering that he is an HVT drug personality.

Polines also said that Cydee is an alleged courier of another target listed drug personality who is currently on the loose.

Cydee is working as a security officer in a private hospital in Bacolod City.

He also has a previous drug case, Polines said.

Polines also said that they have been receiving reports regarding the couple's illegal drug trade, prompting them to conduct a monitoring and later on the operation.

He said they have yet to determine the distribution area of the contrabands and the other sources of the couple.

Both suspects are detained at Silay City Police Station.

The couple will be facing charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
