MAJORITY of the Dabawenyos said they are satisfied with the performance of the current local government officials in the city.
In the City Wide Social Survey Series 10 (CWSS 10) of the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDu)on Friday, December 7, 89.8 percent of Dabawenyos said that they are "very satisfied" and 7.9 percent are "somewhat satisfied" with the performance of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag got 53.7 percent "very satisfied" and 22.5 percent "somewhat satisfied" performance rate as a government official.
"This is an affirmation that we are effectively responding to the needs of our people. I would like to express my utmost gratitude to all Dabawenyos for the support and trust they gave to the local government," Al-ag said in an online interview with VoxPop Davao on Friday.
"This positive survey result is our inspiration to work hard and to look for the best possible intervention for the present and future challenges of our city," he added.
Meanwhile, the city council got 59.4 percent "very satisfied" rate and 27.6 percent "somewhat satisfied" rate from the Dabawenyos.
"Well it's just a survey and I'm glad that majority are satisfied. I hope this will increase to a better percentage in 2019," Councilor Melchor "Jay" Quitain Jr. said in a text message to VoxPop Davao on Friday.
Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang also said the survey confirms the hard work of the councilors of the city which would leave a high level of expectations inculcated in the political doctrine of the Duterte Administration.
"The council will strive even harder to make sure the constituents' satisfaction rating goes higher," Councilor Maria Belen Acosta said.
Still from the CWSS 10, 79 percent of the Dabawenyos said that they are "very satisfied" with the performance of President Rodrigo Duterte while only 8.7 percent for the performance rate of Vice President Leni Robrido in Davao City.
