THE Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) will deploy its personnel including the volunteers to the three festival sites during the highlights of the 39th MassKara Festival from October 26 to 28.

Executive assistant Jose Maria Vargas, cluster head for disaster management, said Wednesday, October 24, about 2,000 personnel from various volunteer units will be deployed to public plaza, Lacson Street and the Government Center.

"It's expected that we will have an influx of tourists to the city's festival sites so we must be prepared," he said.

The rescue volunteers were also tasks to assist and monitor the MassKara dancers during the street dance and arena competitions.

Vargas said they will also deploy about 17 ambulances with 82 crews to the festival sites.

He said the MassKara revelers should bring water and avoid wearing jewelry while roaming in the festival sites.

Vargas also reminded the parents to watch closely their children during the MassKara street dance and arena competitions to avoid untoward incidents. (MAP)
