DYRL Bacolod station manager Renee Brillantes died on July 28 due to an aneurysm.
She was 47. She was a political science graduate of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
Brillantes started her broadcasting career in 1996 and eventually became their station manager in 2004.
She was known as a disciplinarian and had always shown courage when it comes to the affairs of the station and the rank-and-file employees.
Brillantes was assigned to its Dumaguete station in 2015 while she stayed as manager of dyRL Bacolod.
DyRL Bacolod is currently being managed by Diego Obrido, Radyo Pilipino area manager for the Visayas.
Brillantes was the eldest among the three siblings, namely, Sally and Ernesto Jr.
She has a Grade 2 daughter, Patricia Brillantes, who will now be raised by her grandparents, Ernesto and Ricarda Lopee Brillantes.
Teresita Hervas, DyRL administrative/marketing head, said the last time she talked to Brillantes was on Thursday.
She complained about having a headache for a week. She was in a lot of stress and has symptoms of menopausal, adding it all came together and drained her physically, until she lost her breath.
Her wake and internment will still be announced soon.
She was a member of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas Negros Chapter.
Media practitioners are one in extending their sincerest condolence to the family of Brillantes.
