THE management of various malls and other business establishments in Bacolod City should bar 12 years old and below or their Safety Seals will be revoked by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
This was stressed by Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical and data analysis of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Tuesday, November 9, following reports of toddlers and infants being allowed inside the premises of malls and other business establishments in the city.
Sorongon said the EOC has recommended to the DILG to review the minimum health protocols compliance of the malls that are violating the alert level status of Bacolod.
"We are expecting that the DILG will come up with their decision soon," he said.
Sorongon reiterated that based on the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)'s classification, Bacolod City is still under Alert Level 4.
Under IATF resolution, below 18 and over 65 years old, and those with comorbidities and pregnant women are not allowed outside of their homes, except for purchasing essential goods and services from permitted industries.
Only 12 to 17 years old will be allowed to enter malls and other establishments for vaccination purposes only and they need to go home after it immediately, the IATF order added.
Sorongon said two days ago, he went to the management of three big malls in the city.
During the meeting, he said, the EOC clarified that Bacolod City is still under Alert Level 4, which means the existing executive order pertaining to it remains.
Sorongon said there could have been a confusion since the DOH Western Visayas has downgraded Bacolod City to Alert Level 2.
