A FORMER mayor lost 56 fighting cocks to robbers who entered his compound in Sitio Tongo, Barangay Cabadiangan, Himamaylan City on September 23.
In a police report, around 5:30 a.m. of September 23, the caretaker of former Binalbagan town mayor Emmanuel Aranda discovered that his private compound was forcibly entered into by cutting the cyclone fence and perimeter net.
The suspects reportedly took away 56 fighting cocks amounting to P15,000 each.
Further investigation conducted by the police indicated that the suspects used the back portion of the compound as entrance and the front portion as exit.
The suspects reportedly boarded the black van and Toyota Hilux color gray to escape towards north direction.
Elements of Himamaylan City PNP received an information that the suspects were heading to Guihulngan Negros Oriental.
Proper coordination was made by said unit to Guihulngan Municipal PNP and together with some Himamaylan PNP conducted hot-pursuit for the possible apprehension of the suspects and recovery of fighting cocks. (TDE)
