Federalism briefing for information officers

Published on

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will brief the information officers on Federalism Friday, July 27, at the Philippine Statistics Authority office.

DILG-Negros Occidental head Carmelo Orbista will give the briefing during the regular meeting of Negros Occidental Association of Government Information Officers and Liaisons (NAGIOL).

The activity aims to keep the information officers abreast of the current issue on the shift to the new form of government.

One of President Rodrigo Duterte's campaign promises is the shift of government to federal form which is viewed by many to be a solution to the perceived ailing present unitary system.

Recently, the consultative committee (ConCom) submitted its draft charter for the federal government to the president.

Included in the draft is the Negrosanon Federated Region.

NAGIOL president and Provincial Environment Management Office information officer Olive Seruelo said information officers can share to others the information they will get from the activity and thanked DILG for their partnership in advancing government programs for the welfare of the Filipinos.
