NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer is confident of the support of all incumbent mayors in the province for his reelection bid with Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson in the May 2021 elections.
"I'm sure more mayors will come out with their re-affirmation of support for us, and we are thankful for all of them," Ferrer said.
Ferrer's confidence in the mayors' support is based on the unification of Love-Negros and Unega, which are considered the biggest local political aggrupation in the province.
San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, Silay City Mayor Mark Andrew Golez, Binalbagan Mayor Alejandro Mirasol, Don Salvador Benedicto Mayor Marxlen De la Cruz, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson and La Caslellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan have already reaffirmed support for Lacson and Ferrer.
On the part of Unega, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, secretary-general of the party, has already assured the support of 11 incumbent mayors for the Lacson-Ferrer tandem.
