THE Department of Tourism (DOT) in Western Visayas in cooperation with the Negros Occidental Tourism Division through the sponsorship of Asian Development Bank will once again offer the Food and Beverage Service Training for Tourism Industry partners of the North Negros Circuit.
The first batch of the Food and Beverage Training was held at Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on March 16 to 18, 2018.
The second batch of the training will be held on June 13 until June 15 at Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City.
The target participants for the said training are food and beverage service providers of the North Negros Circuit such as those coming from Silay, Victorias and E.B. Magalona.
The succeeding batches shall come from Sagay, Escalante, Cadiz, Manapla, Toboso, Calatrava, Don Salvador Benedicto and San Carlos City.
Resource speaker will be Lorenzo Rojo, an expert in the field of food service industry.
Some of the topics in the three-day training include roles and responsibilities of the food and beverage personnel; workplace safety and sanitation; customer service; achieving guest satisfaction; occupational safety and health; personal grooming and hygiene; and guest engagement.
Likewise, hands-on training and actual demonstration of the dining room and restaurant set-up, table setting, guest service sequence and proper food and beverage service procedures shall be thoroughly covered during the course of the training.
The third batch of the Food and Beverage Training will be held in San Carlos City on June 19 to 21, with participants from the municipalities of Toboso, Calatrava and Don Salvador Benedicto as well as trainees from the host city.
The last batch of said training will be on July 3 to 5 for the cities of Sagay, Escalante, and Cadiz as well as the municipality of Manapla.
The said training is part of a series of DOT-funded training grants, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank, aimed at enhancing tourism competitiveness, increasing employment in the tourism sector, as well as skills-improvement for front liners. (PR)
