Guv: Pala-Pala food terminal to be completed in April

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said the Pala-Pala Food Terminal will be completed this April in time for the Panaad sa Negros Festival.

Marañon said the ejection of the occupants and vendors at the area caused the delay of the completion of the project.

He said the Province is also putting up a storage in the area to keep the fish and vegetables fresh.

Meanwhile, Marañon saw a big chance of the province to win the hosting bid of the Palarong Pambansa in 2021.

He said that after the presentation of the bid of the province by Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, the inspection team of the Department of Education is set to arrive in the province.

"They will inspect our facilities and compare it to that of our competitors," the governor said.

"We have a bigger chance because we already have the facilities and the infrastructure," he added.

The province's rival in the hosting bid is Capiz. (TDE)
