MASS and other religious activities resume on Saturday, May 16, as Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson signed an Executive Order for the extension of the general community quarantine in Negros Occidental until May 31.
Lacson in his EO No.20-24, Series of 2020 stated that the resumption of religious activities are subject to strict observance and enforcement of social distancing and Covid-19 safety protocols such as, only 50 percent of the total capacity of the church are allowed, no physical contact, disinfection of the churches and religious establishments after every service and on line streaming of mass and service is encouraged.
The EO also stated that all check points stationed along the main highways in the borders of each local government units may be maintained for purposes of checking compliance with province- mandated Covid-19 safeguards and thermal scanning. However, home quarantine passes and provincial passes shall no longer be required or inspected.
Heightened patrol of seaports and borders will still be observed since the possible source of infection for Covid-19 are people illegally crossing the borders of Negros Occidental. All local government units, PNP, AFP and the Philippine Coast Guard are enjoined to heighten the security and patrol of the seaports and borders of the province.
Social distancing and mandatory use of face mask are also emphasized in the EO.
