THE Bacolod City Joint Inspection Team (JIT) is waiting for the City Legal Office (CLO) to implement the closure of Peats and Beans Restobar at Ramos Street in Barangay 5 for non-compliance of business permit.
Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo, a member of JIT, said Sunday, September 9, they already submitted the recommendation to the CLO on September 7.
"We recommend the closure of the restobar because they failed to secure a business permit and they only applied after the controversial video went viral on social media," he said.
Montoyo also advised the Permits and Licensing Division to hold for the meantime the new permit processed by the restobar's owner.
Montoyo noted that the owner of the restobar applied a business permit for the operation of their coffee shop on January 18, 2018, and not a restobar.
"The wrongful act was committed before their application of the business permit because there is a public indignation or an act against decency and morality, we will hold their application as the investigation of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is still ongoing," Montoyo said.

Meanwhile, City Administrator John Orola reminded all the market vendors to secure a business permit.
Orola said it was revealed during his meeting with the market vendors that most of them failed to secure a business.
He said he will ask the Permits and Licensing Division to inspect the big public markets to determine the erring vendors.
"It's their responsibility to secure a business permit because they are doing business here. If they don't have a business permit, we will close their operation," he added.
