THE Bacolod City Joint Inspection Team (JIT) will recommend the closure of Peats and Beans Restobar at Ramos Street in Barangay 5 for non-compliance of business permit.
Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo, a member of JIT, said on Thursday, September 6, the recommendation will be submitted to the City Legal Office (CLO) on September 7.
Montoyo, who was tasked by Mayor Evelio Leonardia to lead the investigation, said the owner of the restobar applied a business permit for the operation of their coffee shop on January 18, 2018, and not a restobar.
He said the controversial video, where a group of female teenagers giving a guy a lap dance, happened on September 2 and on September 4, they immediately applied for a new business permit for the operation of the restobar and restaurant.
"The wrongful act was committed before their application of the business permit so because there is a public indignation or an act against decency and morality, we will hold their application as the investigation of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is still ongoing," he added.
Montoyo along with the members of the JIT composed of the Permits and Licensing Division, City Health Office (CHO), City Mayor's Office and CLO will hold a meeting on Friday, September 7.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia had earlier urged the barangay officials to intensify the implementation of City Ordinance 450 which prohibits the sale of liquor, beer, or other intoxicants to a person or persons below 18 years of age.
