FORMER Bacolod City councilor Archie Baribar said Monday, August 6, that their group Kilusang Pagbabago is gearing up in joining Hugpong Ng Pagbabago, a regional political party lead by the Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of Presidente Rodrigo Duterte.
Baribar said on Saturday, August 4, Kilusang Pagbabago, a national people's movement, will gather all the allied forces supporting the president during their second founding anniversary to be held at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center in Bacolod City.
Their guests include Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) national treasurer and GSIS president Clint Aranas, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, Consultative Committee member Arthur Aguilar and Undersecretary Joselito Libre of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary.
Aguilar said that the seven chapters of the Duterte forces in Negros will be attending the founding anniversary.
Meanwhile, Baribar, who is also a member of the PDP-Laban, said the internal rumblings within the party is happening because many would want to join Duterte-Carpio but there are those who are not totally sold out to the proposed federalism pushed by the president.
In the province, he said, they recognize Aranas, who is also the PDP-Laban provincial president, as their highest party official.
