NEWLY-ELECTED Liga ng mga Barangay in Negros Occidental president Juvy Pepillo of Barangay 9, Victorias City and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Pocholo Yuvienco of San Carlos City paid a courtesy visit to Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. at his office Wednesday.
Pepello did not attend the regular session of the Provincial Board yesterday as she is still waiting for the certificate of assumption from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
But Yuvienco has already attended the session.
Both went to visit the governor after the regular session.
Meanwhile, Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. said the province won with the election of the two sectoral leaders, Pepillo and Yuvienco.
There was no political struggle after they were elected to their respective posts and it was for the good of the province, he added.
They wished them well, being the new members of the Provincial Board, and hopes that they could best represent their sectors in the council.
Pepillo vowed to pursue her advocacy on drug education being the administrator of Ang Dalangpan, a drug rehabilitation center in Victorias City established by the Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Foundation Inc.
