ISABELA Mayor Joselito Malabor is considering the transfer of voting precinct of Fifth District congressional candidate Maria Lourdes Arroyo to his town a favor for him.
Malabor's statement is relative to the speculations that Arroyo, sister of the late congressman Ignacio Arroyo and sister-in-law of former president and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, will be supporting both Malabor and his challenger, Irene Montilla, wife of the late mayor Enrique Montilla III.
"She is unopposed. Meaning, she's for all whether she has a commitment or not. We have committed to her and we will give her the working staff along with incumbent Congressman Alejandro Mirasol. We are thankful in the Fifth District that she is unopposed," Malabor said.
Malabor said that the Arroyos have been aware that his brother, the late board member Renato Malabor, was the "last man standing" for the former president during the time when she was down and detained.
"We are standing on the principle of my brother that we don't rely and ask for the help of big politicians for our politics but we just wait for support," the mayor emphasized.
Meanwhile, Malabor said that the town's Tigkalalag Festival will start today, October 31, until November 2.
