THE concerned personnel and officials of the Provincial Legal Office (PLO) said there was miscommunication regarding the coming in of the new provincial legal officer Alberto Nellas, Jr. and his associates at the office of assistant provincial legal officer Mary Ann Lamis.
Lamis said they have already resolved and talked about the issue and she said, "It's time to move on."
Nellas said the team of Lamis thought that his team will be occupying the old office of the PLO that's why when they occupied her office on Monday, July 1, that was the only time that they took out their things including computers and their files.
He added that it was already discussed in their meeting on June 4 that they will occupy Lamis office during the transition period.
Nellas said a personnel at the PLO who was with Lamis in the person of Nellen Marie Gomonit was asked to "show cause" or made to explain about her acts which was not appropriate after she allegedly deleted some files in a computer that belongs to the PLO Office.
"We occupied the office and when we moved out their equipment and office files, they took out folders and computers. She deleted some files and her manner of interaction was somehow not appropriate. It is an internal matter and no case was filed against her," Nellas said.
Reports show some papers and documents of Lamis were moved out from her table after the sudden takeover of the new team without prior advice.
Lamis, on her part, said she was there during the time that the said interaction happened inside her previous office.
She said Gomohit who is her personnel did not intentionally delete such file in the computer but rather she just cleaned it with template.
"We are complying reports. Those are drafts only. Those are templates only. There was nothing malicious. We have nothing to hide. The documents are there. We just cleaned out everything to give way to new records we just removed things we were working on," Lamis added.
Lamis said although she was already anticipating it because of the coming in of the new administration, but she was not informed that the new PLO team will take over her office.
She said since she is only the assistant PLO. She has not attended nor was informed of the said meeting on June 4.
She refused to give further comment as she assured full cooperation with the new administration. "I am loyal to my job and I am loyal to the provincial government," she added.
