MURCIA town Mayor Gerry Rojas placed an area in his town on lockdown after a patient under investigation (PUI) was put in a quarantine at a government hospital Wednesday, April 22.
Rojas said the municipal government will provide for the food of around 20 households at Purok Gloria, Barangay Sta. Rosa and that nobody will be allowed to go in and out of the area during the 14-day quarantine period.
The mayor immediately issued Executive Order No. 62, series of 2020 yesterday placing Barangay Sta. Rosa under ECQ and Purok Gloria in a lockdown.
All quarantine passes shall be suspended in the area, Rojas's EO stated.
The PUI who is a truck driver was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Hospital yesterday after he manifested some Covid-19 symptoms like fever, diarrhea and difficulty in breathing. He has tuberculosis and chronic kidney disease, Rojas added.
Rojas also said rapid test and swab sample will be taken to the patient today to determine if he is positive or negative of Covid-19.
The mayor also said that persons having direct contact with the patient especially the one who assisted him at the tricycle including the driver has been put in a quarantine facility of the town for their health safety.
