Negrense wins Best Script in 'Istorya ng Pag-asa'

VICE President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo said yesterday, June 14, a Negrense from Salvador Benedicto won as Best Script in the Istorya ng Pagasa Film Festival held on June 12 in Manila.

Robredo was in Bacolod City yesterday for the unveiling of the photo gallery of the 20 Negrenses who shared their unique and touching stories in Istorya ng Pag-asa.

Robredo also presented the story of Vejiel Rivera, a member of the Atah Tribe who became a school teacher despite the difficulties that she went through in life.

"The realization of the INP (Istorya ng Pag-asa) has been happening not only Negros Occidental. We have been going around the country and the stories of the Filipinos are really the INP of the whole country."

Robredo said that Istorya ng Pag-asa will be a continuing project of her office.

In fact, she revealed that the main intent of this is a roving photo gallery but during the first year anniversary of Istorya ng Pag-asa, they decided to hold a film festival.

Featured in the photo gallery at the Vianney Hall yesterday are 20 Istorya ng Pag-asa Honorees in the province. They are:
