NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. told the elected barangays officials of the province to lead by example as they assume office, during the mass oath-taking of newly-elected Barangay and SK Officials held at the Negros Occ. Multi-Purpose Activity Center in Bacolod City, Thursday.
Marañon administered the oath of office of more than 300 elected barangay captains, barangay kagawads, and Sangguniang Kabataan officials from the different cities and municipalities of the province.
He said that the development and progress of their barangay lies in their leadership.
He advised them to use their resources wisely and prioritize the projects that will benefit the majority of their constituents.
Marañon also said that one of the most successful projects of the Provincial Government is the Negros Occ. Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) that have helped a number of indigent Negrenses in their health needs.
He urged them not to use NOCHP for political purposes because it is intended for every Negrense.
Also present in the activity were Board Members Salvador Escalante, Jr., Samson Mirhan, Alain Gatuslao, Annabelle Bermudo, and Valentino Miguel Alonso, Fourth District Representative Juliet Marie Ferrer and a former Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer, among others. (PR)
