THE Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) has topped the campaign against illegal drugs, loose firearms, and wanted persons in Western Visayas for the month of June.
Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas, who led the flag raising ceremony and awarding rites at Nocppo headquarters in Bacolod City Monday, said he is happy that Nocppo has significantly contributed to the accomplishments of the regional headquarters.
Bulalacao said Nocppo has the highest arrests on illegal drugs, with 58 arrests, an increase of 32.40 percent.
For the most wanted persons, 18 persons were arrested, with an increase of 38.3 percent while other wanted persons reached 68 or 30.77 percent increase.
For the campaign against loose firearms, 21 were confiscated, with 25.3 percent increase.
Bulalacao said Nocppo's accomplishments in other campaigns are also commendable.
"I cannot help but feel so optimistic that you can break the records," Bulalacao added.
This is also a challenge to keep your record high and improvement more, he said.
Meanwhile, eight commissioned officers and four non-commissioned officers were awarded for their various accomplishments during the flag raising ceremony at Nocppo headquarters yesterday, July 2.
Awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan were Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., director of Nocppo; Chief Inspectors Benedick Poblete, Antonio Benitez Jr., Jake Barila, Rogelio Pacificar Jr., and Lowell Garinganao; Senior Inspector Joey Mara; Senior Police Officers 1 (SPO1) Joelan Vinson and Kent Monserate; and SPO2 Jonel Joey Samillano.
Also awarded with Medalya ng Papuri were Superintendent German Garbosa, and SPO2 Mario Cerbo.
Bulalacao, during his speech, told the policemen that their achievements should be used to motivate others to aspire for greater heights.
Good performance can't be achieved without discipline, he added.
"Always continue to serve and do your jobs to ensure peace and order in the community," Bulalacao said. (GYM)
