LIMITED outdoor exercises and non-contact sports in Negros Oriental have already resumed in compliance to the updated national action plan.
Based on the order of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo which takes effect on Monday, May 18, outdoor exercises such as biking, mountain climbing, outdoor walking, jogging, and running are now allowed under guidelines from the general community quarantine.
However, Degamo stated individuals who will do such activities must comply to minimum health standards such as wearing face masks, and maintaining physical distancing of at least two meters.
Non-contact sports such as golf, lawn and table tennis, and badminton have also been allowed to resume, although with conditions.
Among the conditions for non-contact sports are players must submit for temperature check and hand sanitizing prior to entering the playing venue.
Only players listed with prior reservations are allowed to enter the venue. "Walk-in" players are not allowed unless permitted by management.
Once the game is over, players must leave the premises within 30 minutes, and physical distancing must be observed at all times.
For golf courses and playing courts ran by private entities, their management is required to provide players with a holding area, and allocate individual spaces therein for physical distancing. A specific number of players shall be allowed in a given period of time depending on the given space.
In all public sports facilities, the Board of Management or the Negros Oriental Sports Development Program (NOSDEP) Office is enjoined to strictly implement the guidelines.
