PERSONNEL of La Castellana Municipal Police Station has already a person of interest that may be behind the series of animal slaughtering in Barangay Robles since last month.
Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, town police chief, said on Sunday, June 10, that they are monitoring a person that may be responsible for the animal killings.
Teoxon said they cannot yet determine the motive of the perpetrator as investigation is ongoing.
Eight animals were killed based on the report recorded at the police station since May 8.
Six cows, one carabao, and a pig owned by different persons were slaughtered by an unidentified perpetrators.
Teoxon said the slaughtering was usually committed during nighttime. Then the dead animals were found the following day with stab wounds and injuries on their heads.
Last Friday, June 8, another incident was reported to the police, wherein perpetrators attempted to kill a cow in the same village.
The cow was found the next day with stab wounds and head injuries.
With the occurrence of the incident, police and the barangay watchmen intensified their visibility patrol in the village.
Police also advised residents to stay vigilant. Animal owners were also told to guard their animals especially during night. (GYM)
