THE Calatrava Municipal Police Station is preparing the necessary documents for the filing of multiple murder charges against a young man who killed his three siblings at Barangay Marcelo last Saturday.
Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, town police chief, said Monday that charges for multiple murder in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act will be filed against 21-year-old John Mark Melibo on Wednesday, June 13.
Batusbatusan assured that they will file the criminal complaint before the lapse of the 36-hour reglementary period.
On June 9, Melibo, who was allegedly suffering from a mental illness, slashed to death his three younger brothers inside their house after the victims failed to prepare him food when he arrived home.
Melibo, armed with a butcher's knife, slashed the throats of his younger siblings - Gregor, 1-year-old; Alejandro Jr., 5; and Jhonrenz, 14 while Jenny Rose, 9, survived as she was able to run outside their house.
He was allegedly told by Poseidon, God of the Sea, to kill his siblings.
Melibo is detained at the police station after he was arrested at their house, a day after he committed the crime.
Meanwhile, the victims' mother who is working in Manila already arrived home in the province on Monday, June 11. (GYM/VoxPop Bacolod)
