A LEADER of a robbery group in Bacolod City was again apprehended after police served him an arrest warrant for robbery in a convenience store at C.L. Montelibano Avenue in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Tuesday night, May 15.

Joint operatives of Police Station 4, City Intelligence Unit and Bacolod City Mobile Force Company collared Johnnie Villarete, 31, of Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata around 10:05 p.m.

His arrest warrant was issued by Bacolod City Regional Trial Court Branch 54 Judge Eduardo Sayson.

The court had set a bail of P100,000 for his provisional liberty.

He is detained at Police Station 4.

In January, Villarete also posted bail of P100,000 for the same crime after he was identified by a taxi driver among the two suspects who robbed him along C.L. Motelibano Avenue.

Villarete also posted bail of P200,000 and P40,000 on the same month for his two arrest warrants for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, respectively, after his apprehension in Barangay Bata.

Villarete and his group were involved in a robbery case in Silay City and series of robbery incidents in Bacolod last year.

He was arrested on August 18 after police recovered from his house suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and drug paraphernalia.

Villarete was also previously arrested by operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bacolod at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. port in October last year for robbery.

He, however, posted bail of P100,000 a few hours after his apprehension.(GYM)
