THE Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) has served a notice of violation to the owner of the ready-to-wear (RTW) store on Gatuslao Street, Barangay 21, Bacolod City for violating minimum health protocols.

The order dated June 23, 2021 was signed by CLO Enforcement Unit head lawyer Reuben Sabig and was approved by CLO officer Joselito Bayatan. It was served to the Axelbert RTW Store near the Bacolod public plaza.

The business establishment was reminded to implement the minimum standards required by the Department of Health (DOH) Administrative Order No. 2020-0015, which provides limitations of the number of persons inside the establishments to ensure social distancing of one meter between them.

It is also part of the minimum standards under the said administrative order for the employees and customers to wear masks and face shields, the order stated.

The store owner was also reminded that as per Omnibus Guidelines of the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, his failure to comply with the said health standards constitutes non-cooperation under Section 9 (d) of Republic Act (RA) No. 11332 and may be prosecuted under the said law.

The CLO emphasized that City Ordinance Nos. 926 and 944 series of 2020 both require the said minimum standards of social/physical distancing of one meter and wearing of face masks and face shields.

The store owner was also required to issue sales receipts for purposes of his tax obligations pursuant to Section 151 in relation to Section 143 (b) of the Local Government Code of RA 7160 and Section 237 of the National Internal Revenue Code as amended by RA 10963.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, in a radio interview, said this will serve as a reminder to other business establishments to follow health protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Familiaran, chairman of Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force, urged the Bacolodnons to always wear face masks and face shields, and observe social distancing.
