THE local government of San Carlos City held Mayor Rene Gustilo's Top Shooter Competition on Saturday, August 14, at the Barangay Palampas Firing Range.
Members of the City Council competed together against the professional shooters of San Carlos City, including those of the Municipalities of Calatrava and La Castellana, as well as the Philippine National Police-San Carlos, Hinganiban, Vamos Team, SCCASAI Gun Club, and SCANGAI.
The competition was held in five stages, with a minimum of 130 rounds for divisions' classic, standard, production and Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC).
In Classic Category, Mayor Gustilo topped the Super Senior's Category, while in Senior's Division, Jose Jemuel L. Mahinay of San Carlos City placed first.
For Lawman & Civilian's Category, Rinkart Ravello of Hinganiban was first followed by City Council member Philip Gerard Maisog and Vice Mayor Christopher Paul S. Carmona as second and third placers, respectively.
In Lady's Division, Cherilyn Eloise C. Miravalles of Hinganiban won the first place, while in Production Category for Lawman & Civilian's Division, Mayor Gustilo's son, Renbert, was at the top rank.
On the other hand, Ruhamah Ravello and Joel Canoy of La Castellana topped the Lady's and Senior's Division, while in PCC Category, Renbert N. Gustilo again took the spot at the top for San Carlos Locals Division and for the Guest's Division AJV of Bacolod City ranked first.
In Standard Category for Lawman & Civilian's Division, Bingkoy Mariano of San Carlos City won as champion. For the Senior's Division, Abay Girasol of La Castellana was also champion. In Super Senior' Division, Melchor Zapanta Sr. again of San Carlos City took the top place.
First District Congressman Gerardo Valmayor Jr. was also present to witness the event. Winners were announced after the competition where they received their individual plaques. (PR)
