THE local government of San Carlos City through City Mayor Renato Gustilo had the radio and TV instruction studios and various learning equipment blessed and turned over to the local Department of Education (DepEd) Monday, February 8, 2021.

At least 136 units of HP laptop and 356 units of Samsung Tablet worth P7,277,413.52 were given to the DepEd, while two rooms inside Congressman Vicente Gustilo Sr. Memorial School converted into a radio and TV studios were also turned over to them.

Said radio/TV based instruction studios will be used as a radio/TV broadcast system to air different learning episodes for the students amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anthony Liobet, CESO VI, Schools Division superintendent, received the equipment.

Liobet said that DepEd is planning to launch its own radio and TV studio as part of DepEd's blended learning approach in widening the student's access to education despite the pandemic.

He said there are selected teachers trained to do the live teaching.

"We aimed at making the broadcasting system operational before the year ends," Liobet said.

The radio/TV studio with equipment will be funded by the local government. (PR)
