BACOLOD City Councilor Ricardo Tan lauded the officials of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) led by chairman Martin Delgra III and Western Visayas director Richard Osmeña for finally having their own "home" in Bacolod City as they inaugurated their satellite office on October 27 at Barangay Mansilingan.
Tan joined the LTFRB officials during the blessing and inauguration of its satellite office.
Tan said, "after transferring from one place to another, they have a permanent place which is one of the most beautiful if we compare it with all the satellite offices of LTRFB all over the country. I also assisted them in finding this permanent
place which can surely cater to the needs of our operators with a more convenient, accessible and spacious LTFRB satellite office."
He added that it would be difficult for the operators to process their regulatory permits with the said office if they locate this in Iloilo City, which was part of their previous plan.
LTFRB -Western Visayas Satellite office used to occupy a small office at the City Health compound at BBB Galo and was transferred to a small office located near the Bays Center which was formerly occupied by the Bacolod Arts Association.
That small office which was temporarily provided by the City Government of Bacolod was closed down on September 1.
As they were working on their transfer, operators have expressed dismay after hearing reports that the satellite office will be transferred to Iloilo City, which they see as an additional burden for them when they process their franchises and other regulatory permits with the said office. (CNC)
