THE Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital (BOLMSH) will re-open with a new name.
Santi Mamon, president of the BOLMSH said Thursday, August 24, that Dr. Evangeline Johnson of Tiong Bi which owns the hospital, intends to re-open the hospital under a new name.
This, after Negros Health Care Management Systems Inc. has already informed Johnson that they will end their five-year contract with Tiong Bi by the end of the month, said Mamon.
BOLMSH has ceased its operations after the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) canceled its accreditation over some fraudulent act committed by Tiong Bi in previous years.
Mamon said Johnson did not reveal to them if she will offer the hospital to other renters.
"We don't know if she will have a partner investor but she told us that she intends to re-open the hospital," Mamon said.
PhilHealth reportedly has no intentions yet to lift the suspension of the hospital's accreditation.
In a related development, some of the former hospital employees have already received their separation pay from NHMSI while the union members have yet to receive their respective pays.
"They are still computing our separation pay based on the agreement reached with the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC)," Mamon said.
There are about 401 employees who lost their jobs after the hospital shut down its operations.
