BACOLOD City Water District general manager Juliana Carbon told their employees to learn from mothers that heroism is shown from self-giving, strength in compassion, and wisdom in meekness.
Carbon said this during their flag raising ceremony on Thursday, January 3.
"This will be our guide for this New Year," she said.
"You have to contribute a part of yourselves for the water district. We have to instill discipline but with compassion. We will always seek wisdom and stay humble. One bishop said to respect girls and women. You have no excuse to abuse women, especially poor women. We have to be mindful of our language and what we are talking," she said.
"It was stated in one of the television stations that we now live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous situation," she said.
"Sometimes, we don't know the answer. But it is always God, love, understanding, and open-mindedness is the answer. We should always seek guidance from the Lord in everything that we do especially this year that we will be facing so many challenges," she added.
She said there will be a new set of board of directors and "we should constantly pray for their enlightenment and guidance as they lead this institution that is entrusted to deliver the basic water services."
She stressed that the people need to address immediately one of the major concerns in the society which is water supply.
