HER baby arrived first instead of her destination.
A pregnant woman suddenly felt the urge to push her baby out while on board a Ceres bus from Victorias City to Cadiz City on Saturday, September 1, along with a three-year-old child.
She was not yet prepared to deliver her baby and more so on a bus.
Joebel Bernas, the bus conductor, apparently served as her first "doctor" who extended her the needed help while she initially felt birth pains.
Bernas, along with bus driver Joseph Golez and about 20 passengers, turned witnesses to the woman who delivered safely a baby girl inside a bus.
Jade Seballos, media relations officer of Vallacar Transit, said that while Bernas was collecting fares from passengers, he got a chance to look at the pregnant woman who was seated at the back of the bus.
The bus conductor said the woman looked in pain, then asked her how was she, the woman replied she needed to deliver her baby.
The conductor was a bit shocked and did not know what to do.
Two women passengers who were also concerned about the woman and her baby were fast to lend their helping hand and they told the pregnant woman to just lean near the window so she will have enough support when she pushes the baby out.
They also put a cover so the baby can have a soft landing.
After she delivered the baby, they were already near Saint Anne Medical Center–Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City.
The driver, who was also in panic mode, suddenly entered the exit instead of the entrance of the hospital.
Since they could not unload the woman, another bus driver who was on official leave, jumped off the bus and proceeded to the emergency room and told the doctors and nurses that a woman delivered a baby inside the bus.
While he was inside the emergency room, the bus again exited from the hospital and again entered at the entrance gate. They then successfully unloaded the baby and her mother.
A nurse got the baby first. Then they lifted the woman and placed her in an emergency bed.
The mother named her baby Ceresa.
