Marañon: Hospital has no negligence in death of twins

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said the hospital has no negligence on the reported death of twins of an 18-year-old mother at Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

Marañon said that he personally conducted an investigation and went to the hospital to check on the complaint.

He said that the present situation of the hospital is that its delivery section is crowded and with an average of 13 deliveries every day, 30 percent of those giving birth are from Bacolod City.

During the time of confinement of the patient, the caesarian section of the Hospital was also full, the governor said.

But Marañon said sanctions could be slapped against some personnel.

However, the governor found out that one of the twins was already dead inside the mother's womb when she arrived at the hospital which could be due to stress as her live-in partner has just died of heart attack at the age of 22.
